
Project Overview
The Hakodate Sushi app is a mobile app designed for a newly opened izakaya-style restaurant in northwest England. The app is localized with newly added features like allergen and nutritional information to facilitate dining habits in the UK. It is also designed from the perspectives of a first timer to enhance the overall dining experience.
THE PRODUCT
A mobile app that helps a new sushi restaurant introduce Japanese cuisine to the local people of Warrington.
PROBLEM
55% of the Brits have never tried sushi before and many are not sure what to order and have allergies or worried about eating raw fish.

Provide convenience for users to order based on their personal preference, book and learn about different types of sushi.

MY ROLE
This is an self-initiative project working as a design consultant, helping the sushi bar owner to ideate a new app concept using design thinking and UX design skills.
KEY STAGE
EMPATHIZE
Conducted qualitative user interviews
with local residents and regular sushi lovers
DEFINE
Discovered the expectation of customers and figured out what they concerned about.
IDEATE
Find out the pros and cons of other food ordering apps and optimized the user experience.
PROTOTYPE
Created Low-fidelity prototypes and mockup for the sushi app. Took reference to the accessibility and brand DNA.

TEST
Tested with 3 users to obtain feedbacks when using the prototype. Also improved the accessibility.
